Starting something new is easier with someone in your corner. At WEDOIT, mentorship is how we help new agents grow in skill, confidence, and character. It's personal to us, because a mentor mattered deeply in the life of the person who started this business.

Why mentorship matters to us

Joel's own path had plenty of learning curves. He's an immigrant who studied in Cameroon, Europe, and the United States before becoming a pharmacist. At one point he worked three pharmacy jobs at the same time and learned that overtime isn't financial freedom. Those lessons are part of what he shares with the agents he mentors.

What mentorship looks like at WEDOIT

​

Mentorship goes beyond training sessions. It's a working relationship built on regular contact. It can include:

​

- One-on-one check-ins to talk about your goals, your schedule, and what's getting in the way

- Goal setting that fits your life, whether you want a few hours a week or something bigger

- Role-play practice so you're ready for real conversations

- Joint appointments where you work alongside an experienced agent

- Case reviews to talk through a family's situation and make sure recommendations fit their needs

- Honest feedback, given with respect

In the beginning, mentorship is mostly about learning and watching. You'll observe conversations, ask lots of questions, and practice.

 As your skills grow, you take on more yourself, and your mentor shifts from leading to supporting. The goal is for you to become confident and independent, not dependent on someone else.

What we ask of you

Mentorship works both ways. We look for people who are:

- Coachable: willing to learn, practice, and try again

- Honest: putting the client's needs first, every time

- Consistent: showing up for training and following through

- Caring: people who see this work as service, not just sales

You don't need to be an expert. You need to be willing to grow. In return, we commit to being patient, honest, and available when you have questions.

Balancing this work with the rest of your life

​

Many people who join us already have a demanding job, children, or both. A good mentor helps you set a pace you can keep, so this work adds to your life instead of taking it over. Joel learned the hard way, working three jobs at once, that more hours aren't always the answer. We'd rather help you build steady habits than burn out.

Growing into a mentor yourself

​

Over time, many agents want to help others the way someone helped them. As your skills grow, you may have the chance to support newer agents, share what you've learned, and help build a team that carries the same values. That's how "leaving no family behind" spreads: one person helping the next.

Who will my mentor be?

New agents work with experienced, licensed members of the WEDOIT team. We'll talk about how mentorship would work for you during a career conversation.

How often do mentors meet with new agents?

It depends on your goals and schedule. Mentorship is most active when you're new and adjusts as you grow.

Is mentorship only for people who go full-time?

No. Many people start part-time around another job or family responsibilities. Mentorship is built to meet you where you are.

​
