How We Train New Agents
A license gives you permission to help families. Training gives you the skill and confidence to do it well. At WEDOIT, we believe you should understand a product clearly before you ever explain it to someone else. Here's how we approach training.
Product education: learn it before you share it
Our motto is "we educate before we sell," and that starts with our own team. New agents learn the basics of the products families ask about most: term life, whole life, indexed universal life, living benefits, final expense coverage, and retirement income options such as annuities.
We focus on the *why* as much as the *what*: which family situations a product may fit, what its costs and limits are, and what questions a client should ask. If you can't explain something in plain words, you're not ready to present it yet, and that's okay. You keep learning until you are.
Field training: learning alongside an experienced agent
Reading about the work only goes so far. In field training, new agents learn by joining an experienced, licensed agent on real conversations with families, with the family's permission. You'll see how a needs conversation flows, how to listen more than you talk, and how to answer hard questions honestly.
Over time, you take on more of the conversation yourself while your trainer supports you. After each appointment, you talk through what went well and what to improve. There's no rush to go solo; you move forward when you and your trainer agree you're ready.
Weekly team training
We hold regular team training so agents keep sharpening their skills together. Sessions may cover product updates, role-play practice, how to explain living benefits clearly, handling common questions, and staying organized. It's also a place to ask questions, share lessons,
